How to write a business objective in simple terms?

Writing down your business objectives is the first thing a businessman or entrepreneur should do. The business objective not only narrows down the business focus but also provides a guidance in terms of making further plans. It is a good idea to keep business objective simple and neat. The more complicated it gets, the more interpretations it will have. As a result you will have a business strategy or execution that will not be aligned with the business objective.

It does not matter if your business is small, medium or large. Having a clear objective is a great start. For e.g. a simple business objective can be

We want to be leader in the chocolate cookies sales business on internet.

My plan is to be in the top ten comics sellers in United States in next four years.

See, it does not have to be complicated. You have stated what you have been thinking all along.

Once it is done , you can break down the objectives into meaningful strategies. For e.g. from now onwards, you can decide between selling chocolates through your own website or a resellers website. Another example can be if you should manufacture the toys in your own factory or source it from somewhere else?

You get the point right? Important thing is to write the down the objective and stick to it.
