My 7 Links (Post) Challenge to you

in General

I was nominated by Sonia Winland, owner of the blog  for the seven links challenge. She is a wonderful blogger and great friend of mine. She has been a great supporter of my blog.

7 link challenge

The idea is super simple: bloggers publish 7 links from their blog of posts that might be in “sleep” mode and need to see some light.

  • Pick 7 posts from “your” blog that you feel had the most impact or meant the most to you
  • Nominate 5 additional bloggers with their blog link to pass this on.

This is an awesome opportunity to introduce other bloggers that you admire to share some “oldie but goodie posts”!

My blog is now more than an year old but looking back , I can vouch that since only January this year, I started working on it seriously. So effectively it has been less than a year and in my opinion, I am doing ok Smile

I like the format Adrienne has created for her own list. I will be using her style in this post. ( Adrienne, you will hopefully forgive me for copying your idea Smile ) .

So here they are , my top seven posts .

I think people enjoyed my recent post about Winners who don’t quit while they face the climb. I talked about how winners persist and go through the climb and then reap the rewards of the tough days that they have endured.

A very sad tale about how kids are killing themselves because they could not secure a seat in the college of their choice or get marks they thought they deserved. It is a sad commentary on the state of education in most of the part of the world. Today’s education makes children a fodder for job market rather than giving them tools to be creative and intelligent.

Rising suicide among school children is worrisome

Facebook and Google are tough competitors. I wrote about my take on Facebook vs Google battle which created some heated but great discussion.

Facebook Vs Google – Its a war out there

When I wrote this post, I was not much aware about social media and its implication on communication. Social media has redefined the way we communicate , for good or for worse. The fact is that communication matters.

Communication is not a one way street

Post #5: A post that cautions

I am a fan of delighting customer but unplanned and uncontrolled delighting can have major consequences on your venture

Customer Delight, A big risk

Post#6: Lessons from a guitar shop.

I learned a lot from a guitar shop owner whom I know from last ten years. He always greets me with a smile and that is what makes me go again and again to him for any new purchase . Dealing with competition: lessons from Guitar shop on Entrepreneurship

Good managers allow employees to develop their own individuality. It not only helps in creating a great workplace but improves morale a lot.

Good managers encourage individuality in a team

Here are my favourite five bloggers ( this is by no means exhaustive list ).

Aswani from One Stop Blog –>Great SEO tips

Byrce : Balanced work life –> Everything on business

Daniel M Wood : –> Master of productivity

Swami Ji Balendu : –> Spirituality on the web

Nicola Deiana: –> Blogging expertise redefined

What people above need to do? Take the challenge :) and pass it to your favorite list :).

I have read most of the posts you listed and they are all good. I am going to go back and read the one that I have not read.
I also read 2 or 3 of the blogs you mentioned. I will be going and checking out the rest as I am sure they are great blogs or would not be mentioned.
This is a great challenge not only for you but for your readers as we benefit greatly from it.

Great post idea, this way everybody gets something. Good thinking.
Also great list of bloggers you posted there. I’ve look around, very interesting, might follow some of them.

Mouh November 14, 2011 at 10:03 pm

I first learned about the 7 links post from Adrienne on her blog. I think it is a great idea. I’ve used slightly the same method in one of my posts. I wrote about the posts I am most proud of. :)

I have read most of the posts you mentioned here. I agree about the first top one (a motivating post) I think that was one of your best posts.

I think you should include your post about Google + and Facebook (Facebook vs Google ( plus ) :The battle continues). I think you didn’t mention it here. You should! I enjoyed that post a lot!

Hey Mouh,
You have been a great friend and inspiration to me . I am always looking forward to your comments on my blog.
Yeah. I think that posts deserves a mention here but there are only seven posts I could include. Including one may break the game :). I am also planning to publish an update to the battle next week. Hope you will enjoy that too :)

Great stuff and an inspiring idea keep it especially that you have featured five great bloggers along with your seven favourite posts

Bryce Christiansen November 12, 2011 at 4:38 am

Wow thanks Ashvini,

Sorry it’s taken me some time to make it back, it’s been a crazy week.

I’m glad you did this. Blogs can be intimidating beasts. We all know there is a great level of value all throughout it, but how do we find the content that we may have missed out on.

I will have to read up on these this weekend.

I think doing this on my blog could be helpful as well.

Thanks again,

Hey Ashvini,

I love these types of posts and I’m so thrilled that Sonia passed the torch on to you. I think doing them by category will help you pick the posts that fit mostly in those.

I haven’t read all of your posts so I’ll look forward to going back through them. Will have to do them tomorrow though. I’m looking forward to it though Ashvini!

Thank you for sharing and can’t wait to read the posts from the people you have nominated.

This is a great motivation for all other boggers to start working on their blogs more. The idea itself is rather simple and great at the same time.

Nicola November 11, 2011 at 3:51 am

Hey bro thanks for mentioning my blog in your list. I think I have a lot to learn by you. Your articles are very powerful and you have proper use of the English language which make your blog much appreciated by the new Google algorithm, Panda. Hope to recover my blog by latest updates as soon as possible. Keep it writing ;)

Ashvini Kumar Saxena November 11, 2011 at 3:15 pm

Thank you bro for your kind words. I have known you from about 8 months I think and it has been a great association. I too have learned a lot from you especially the feedback that I often seek from you. You will soon get back in action. I am hopeful of that.:)

Sonia November 10, 2011 at 11:38 pm

Hey Ash! Awesome list of posts and I recognize some, but not the others. Ok, I got some reading to do. Thank you so much for passing this on and the kind words. Ashvini Kumar Saxena November 11, 2011 at 3:17 pm

Hey Sonia,

I wish your blog a very happy birthday and I hope together we see a lots of them. :).

Aswani November 10, 2011 at 10:35 pm

Congrats Ashvini. This is really good. And many thanks for mentioning my blog in your list. I really appreciate it though I doubt if I really deserve to be in your list of favorite bloggers especially for the SEO tips. I still have a lot to know about SEO especially advanced SEO tips and techniques. Hopefully, I will gain more and more knowledge on the same in the coming days and share it with my friends.

Btw, I will be continuing this 7 links challenge in my upcoming post. Hoping to see you there. Thanks..!

Ashvini Kumar Saxena November 11, 2011 at 3:19 pm

Hey Aswani,

You are SEO teacher of mine and that too an excellent one. You have been really blogging from a long time and that makes you an expert on blogging. I will be waiting for your awesome posts and list

Carolyn@The Wonder of Tech November 10, 2011 at 6:15 pm

Hi Ashvini, The article on child suicide was the first article I read on your blog, I believe. Your article was touching, insightful and educational about your culture. I always enjoy your articles and will look forward to checking out more of your good work.

And thank you for directing us to these other blogs. I know a couple of them already and look forward to discovering the others!
