Being remarkable may be about born about with right set of genes. However most of the people become remarkable not because they were only born with right genes (if), but also because they were humble enough to learn and refused to be cowed down.

Looking around, we may see a lot of people who are remarkable in their own ways. Even though they are called as geniuses, most of them would have worked very hard to be where they are today.

Can everyone be remarkable? Sure, why not? They can be remarkable in their own ways. Though the world looks admiringly only at people making money but that is quite the narrow way of looking at things. Here are a few traits how anyone can be remarkable.

  1. Drop the know-it-all attitude. Instead cultivate attitude of learning
  2. Learn from the best in your business/work
  3. Learn even from your competitors
  4. Do something more than what you are expected to.
  5. Help others. You might learn something new
  6. Read more books (non – fiction). They may be boring but contains a lot of knowledge and experience
  7. Be curious
  8. Don’t believe known principles. Test and find out for yourself
  9. Help without expecting something in return
  10. Solve specific problems in innovative ways
  11. Develop customer centric approach
  12. Think solutions that solve problems for a long term
  13. Be flexible and adaptable
  14. Stand by your convictions and thoughts but be open to new ideas
  15. Learn from your mistakes and other’s too
  16. Don’t listen to people who tell you that something cannot be done
  17. Take opinions of others but follow your own dreams
  18. Think about providing value in your work
  19. Create remarkable products/ exceptional services
  20. Copy but improve on it. Do not copy slavishly.

Great List, Ashvini!

In today’s world, a person is judged by their status, education and the money they have rather than their personality and character (Which what we are supposed to look for in a person). And the condition isn’t getting any better. Many people today value money over everything else.

Anyways, thank you for the awesome post,

P.S: Below, I have linked my entry for a guest blogging contest I am participating in, would you mind to stop by and comment? (it is on customer centric approach). Thank you!

Hi Jeevan,

I think love for money was there right from ancient time. Humans as such have not changed that much since many years.Because of social media, internet and newspaper we hear more about love of money than in any other times.
I believe that being non remarkable is getting lesser acceptable in today’s competitive world and we all need to strive for being remarkable.
I would put comment on the site :).

Thanks for your comment. Always appreciate it.
